After snapping their 13-game losing skid on Thursday night, the Moose Jaw Generals were hoping to carry their momentum over to Saturday’s meeting with the Saskatoon Contacts at Mosaic Place.
However, the Generals weren’t able to find the back of the net during the afternoon contest, falling 3-0 to the Contacts.
The game was scoreless going into the third period, but Boston Maxwell was able to get Saskatoon on the board only 5:56 into the frame and that stood up as the game winner.
Brodie Girod gave the Contacts some breathing room with 3:20 remaining in the game and Hunter Prokopchuk put the game out of reach with an empty net goal with 1:48 to play.
Moose Jaw went 0-for-6 on the power play in the game, but also went 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.
Generals goalie Jake Davidson had a busy game, turning away 47 shots in the loss, while Contacts goalie Chase Hamm stopped all 34 shots from the Generals for the shutout.
The Generals return to the ice on Thursday to host the Notre Dame Argos at Mosaic Place. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
